Binghamton take series finale, 10-4 on Sunday

Portland, Maine - Jeff McNeil hit for the cycle and the Binghamton Rumble Ponies (17-17) won the rubber match of their five-game series with the Sea Dogs (11-22) 10-4 on Mother's Day at Hadlock Field.

The cycle by McNeil was just the second in franchise history for Binghamton (also Josh Satin 6/24/11). McNeil hit an RBI triple in the first, singled in the third, doubled in the fourth, and finished with a home run off of Teddy Stankiewicz in the eighth into the US Cellular Pavilion.
The Rumble Ponies set a season-high with 15 hits in the ballgame. Eight of nine Rumble Ponies had a base hit, including five players with multi-hit games. Levi Michael homered and doubled, Peter Alonso homered and had 3 RBIs, and Tim Tebow had two hits, including a double and an RBI.
Binghamton scored two runs in the first and third innings, then put up four in the fourth to extend their lead to 8-2.
Josh Ockimey and Tony Renda both homered in the loss for Portland.
Marcos Molina (W, 1-3) threw a quality start en route to his first victory of the year. Molina allowed two runs (one earned) on four hits in six innings, he walked five and struck out four.
Travis Lakins (L, 0-1) went 2.1 innings and allowed four runs on four hits. Stankiewicz went 5.1 in the piggyback start and allowed five runs on 10 hits while striking out six.
Portland starts an eight-game series on Monday night against the Reading Fightin Phils (Phillies affiliate) at FirstEnergy Stadium. Righty Mike Shawaryn (2-3, 2.88) starts the roadtrip opener. Radio coverage on the U.S. Cellular Sea Dogs Radio Network begins at 6:30 PM. MiLBTV coverage starts at 6:40 PM.
