FREDERICK, MD – On Saturday, August 22, 2026, The Frederick Keys partnered with Celestial and Pixis Drones to transform Nymeo Field into their own version of the city of Oz! The show, featuring more than 500 drones, displayed a retelling of the classic story, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum.

Alongside the spectacular light show in the sky, guests could encounter some of the story’s' most iconic characters while walking around the stadium. Thanks to the team at Glass Palace Parties, Dorothy, Glinda, and Elphaba all stopped by to take pictures and meet fans. Attendees could also snap pictures at the themed balloon photo booth from Pop Balloons. Local circus arts school, Theatricks, also helped maintain the magic with roaming stilt walkers around greeting guests!

In addition to meeting the Oz’s most iconic stars, guests could participate in a whole host of activities for the whole family! Baltimore local, Kelly Rhodes (@YourHairFairyMD), gave guests a chance to get into character with fairy hair tinsel, while Bubbles Productions gave guests the chance to indulge in face painting and a bubble show! The Frederick Jazz Society performed live renditions of the classic soundtrack from the iconic 1939 film The Wizard of Oz.

The magic didn’t stop on the field; guests could indulge in special Wizard of Oz themed concessions items such as Glinda’s Pink Potion cotton candy lemonade, Munchkin Magic funnel fries, and Emerald City Mint ice cream from South Mountain Creamery. No stone was left unturned when it came to immersive theming. Themed light-up wands and swords were available for purchase to help illuminate the stands.

VIP and suite options were also available for those looking to elevate their night. VIP guests could experience the show from the upscale indoor hospitality space featuring the best views in the ballpark. Suite guests were also treated to the “No Place Like Home” Kansas inspired BBQ menu featuring pit beef, pulled pork, mac and cheese, and baked beans.
