The Dunedin Blue Jays will have a new look when they take the field on July 3rd for the team's popular Hometown USA celebration. The Blue Jays players and coaches will don special New Era Stars and Stripes hats during their first three games of July to raise money and awareness for Welcome Back Veterans, a charitable organization whose goal is to assist returning veterans with PTSD and job needs.
Want your own Dunedin Blue Jays Stars and Stripes cap? Hats can be purchased starting today at the Jays online shop or in-person at the stadium's Jays Shop on game days. Major League Baseball Properties will collect and donate all royalties from the sale of these caps to Welcome Back Veterans. Sizes and supplies are limited.
Want another chance to get your own Stars and Stripes cap? The Blue Jays will be raffling off a team-signed Stars and Stripes hat during their July 3rd Hometown USA celebration at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium. Hometown USA, the Blue Jays' annual Independence Day celebration, is a FREE event for the public featuring a Blue Jays game (6:15 PM) against the Daytona Tortugas, a post-game fireworks show, and a concert by the Greg Billings Band. Tickets to the event are available at no cost courtesy of Budweiser, the Dunedin Blue Jays, and the City of Dunedin and can be picked up on July 3rd at the box office at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium starting at 4:15 PM.
The Blue Jays will also raffle off a team-signed Stars and Stripes hat at their 4th annual Charity Bowling Tournament on Saturday, July 29th at Countryside Lanes in Clearwater. Participation in the Bowling Tournament is just $25 per bowler and includes two games of bowling, shoes, a game ticket to that evening's Blue Jays game, lunch, a DJay Bowling Bobblehead, and a variety of great prizes, raffles and auctions, all to benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities of Tampa Bay. More information on the event can be found here.
