Blue Jays fans across America and Canada came together at the end of last season to help DJay, beloved mascot of the Dunedin Blue Jays, be crowned Mascot Mania champion of Minor League Baseball. This year, fans have the opportunity to unite once again, this time to support great local charities while celebrating DJay's nationwide fan-vote victory during Mascot Night at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium on July 8th.
The Dunedin Blue Jays will don special Mascot Mania championship jerseys on Saturday, July 8th during the team's game against the Clearwater Threshers. Following the game, the players' game-worn uniforms, which feature the Mascot Mania championship belt across the front, will be awarded to the highest bidders with all proceeds from the jerseys' auctions going to support local charities in Dunedin.
Fans interested in bidding on their favorite player's game-worn jersey can do so at the Blue Jays Charity Auction Site. Bidding will remain open until midnight following the July 8th game. Jerseys will be signed by the player who wore them and will be available for pick-up at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium or will be shipped to winning bidders following the auction's conclusion.
The 2016 Mascot Mania vote was both spirited and contentious, with fanbases across the country competing to crown their favorite mascot champion. On Mascot Night, however, all competitive spirit will be set aside as various mascots from around the Florida State League and the state of Florida will come together to help celebrate DJay's championship and raise money for great local charities.
