Bluefield's Reyes and DiCesare Receive POTW Honors
CHAPEL HILL, NC- The Appalachian League announced today that Minor League Baseball selected Bluefield Blue Jays outfielder Joseph Reyes as Player of the Week and Bluefield right-handed pitcher Jared DiCesare as Pitcher of the Week. Both awards recognize these players' performances for games during the week of July 1-7.

Reyes, 21, earned Player of the Week Honors following a dominant week. Reyes hit .368, had a 1.000 slugging percentage, homered 4 times over 5 games, recorded 10 RBI, and scored 7 runs. Reyes was signed by Toronto in 2017 out of All Hallows HS in New York City. He played last season with the Gulf Coast League Blue Jays.
DiCesare, 21, earned Pitcher of the Week Honors after an outstanding start on Saturday. DiCesare picthed 5 scoreless inning, giving up just 2 hits, no walks, and striking out 5. DiCesare was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 17th round of the 2019 draft out of George Mason University.
