Bradley, Mead, Peoples and Davitt All Dealt in Deadline Trades

The Tampa Bay Rays announced a series of trades on Thursday, the last day of the Major League trade deadline, with several members of the 2025 Durham Bulls squad involved. Right-hander Taj Bradley was acquired by the Minnesota Twins in exchange for right-hander Griffin Jax, while infielder Curtis Mead and right-handers Ben Peoples and Duncan Davitt were acquired by the Chicago White Sox in exchange for right-hander Adrian Houser.

Bradley in 25 starts with the Bulls over parts of four seasons from 2022-25 combined for an 8-8 record and 4.08 ERA (114.2 IP), adding 40 walks and 108 strikeouts. He fired seven no-hit innings Wednesday night in what turned out to be his final outing with the Rays organization, adding three strikeouts. The 24-year-old also started the 2022 Triple- A National Championship Game in Las Vegas against the Reno Aces, with Durham coming out victorious in a wild 10-6 win for the organization's fourth Triple-A National Championship.

Across three Major League seasons with Tampa Bay, Bradley posted a 19-25 record and 4.70 ERA (354.0 IP) in 69 appearances (67 starts), adding 130 walks and 378 strikeouts. He was selected by the Rays in the fifth round of the 2018 MLB Draft out of Redan High School in Georgia.

Mead played in 190 games with the Bulls across parts of five seasons from 2021-25, batting .290 (214-738) with 122 runs, 50 doubles, eight triples, 29 homers and 109 RBI. In 14 games with the Bulls this season he compiled a .264 average (14-53), adding ten runs, two doubles, three homers and seven RBI.

Over parts of three seasons with the Rays, Mead combined for a .238 average (76-320) with 36 runs, eight doubles, two triples, five homers and 20 RBI. He was acquired by Tampa Bay in a November 20, 2019 deal from the Philadelphia Phillies in exchange for LHP Cristopher Sanchez.

Peoples prior to the trade had spent the entire 2025 campaign with Durham, posting a 2-2 record and 2.65 ERA (37.1 IP) over 35 appearances, adding 20 walks and 39 strikeouts.

Across six minor league seasons in the Tampa Bay organization he has combined for a 16-20 record and 3.44 ERA (300.2 IP) in 107 outings (63 starts), adding 154 walks and 358 strikeouts. He was selected by the Rays in the 22nd round of the 2019 MLB Draft out of Giles County High School in Tennessee.

Davitt began the 2025 season with Double-A Montgomery, accumulating a 5-3 record and 3.55 ERA (83.2 IP) in 15 starts along with 15 walks and 81 strikeouts. Over his four starts with Durham following his promotion he recorded an 0-2 clip and 6.30 ERA (20.0 IP) with six walks and 24 strikeouts.

In his four minor league seasons in Tampa Bay's system he has combined for a 17-20 record and 4.21 ERA (324.2 IP) in 76 appearances (56 starts), adding 91 walks and 344 strikeouts. He was selected by the Rays in the 18th round of the 2022 MLB Draft out of the University of Iowa.

Following tonight's postponement with Gwinnett, the Bulls are set to continue their 12-game road trip with a doubleheader on Thursday evening, with first pitch of game one set for 5:05pm. Game two is scheduled to follow approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of game one.
