Turning Point
The RubberDucks (41-37) scored four runs in the first inning against Bowie right-hander Matthew Grimes (3-7). Bradley ripped an opposite-field, two-run double to left, and Yu Chang belted a two-run homer, his 18th of the year, to give the Ducks a 4-0 lead right out of the starting gate.
Winging It
Thomas Pannone (4-1) started for the Ducks and worked the first five innings, giving up just two runs on five hits. He walked three and fanned six. After Robbie Aviles tossed two scoreless innings in relief, the Baysox rallied for four runs off Nick Pasquale in the eighth to pull to within 8-6. Lefty David Speer put out the fire to limit the damage in the eighth, and closer Cameron Hill maneuvered through the ninth for his 5th save in five chances.
Duck Tales
Bradley followed his first-inning double with a triple in the third inning, his second of the season, and scored on a wild pitch to extend the lead to 5-0. He came up again in the fourth facing Bowie reliever Jefri Hernandez and blasted a three-run homer off the batter's eye in center to make it 8-0. It was Bradley's 15th homer of the year and gave him five RBI on the night. Needing a single for the cycle, Bradley grounded out to shortstop in his final at-bat in seventh. Sever enjoyed his first 4-hit game of the season, collecting two doubles and two singles.
