Summary
Akron's Bobby Bradley slugged a clutch, two-run home run in the 8th inning Monday night, leading the RubberDucks to a 4-3 victory over the Trenton Thunder in the opener of a three-game series Monday night at Canal Park.

Turning Point
After falling behind 3-2 when the Thunder rallied for three runs in the top of the eighth, Akron rebounded in the bottom of the inning against lefty Caleb Frare (0-1). Francisco Mejía walked, and Bradley followed with a towering, two-run homer just inside the foul pole down the right field line to give Akron a 4-3 lead. It was Bradley's sixth of the year.
Winging It
Akron starter Thomas Pannone did not disappoint in his Double-A debut. The lefty weaved together 5.2 innings of scoreless baseball, scattering three hits, walking three and striking out six. The Carolina League Player of the Month for April while at Single-A Lynchburg, Pannone has now pitched 33.1 innings this season without giving up an earned run. Cole Sulser took over for Pannone in the sixth, and worked into the eighth. Right-hander Neil Holland (2-0) picked up the win in relief.
Duck Tales
Joe Sever jacked a solo homer to lead off the fifth against Trenton starter Chance Adams to give Akron a 2-0 lead. It was Sever's first homer of the year. Bradley was 2-4, with a single and his two-run shot. Mejia also had a pair of hits and a walk. Yu Chang singled and scored in the second inning on a double-play grounder.
