Braves Fall Short in 8-4 Loss

Delmarva scratched the scoreboard first in the second inning, scoring two runs thanks to an RBI double by Gerrion Grim and an RBI groundout by Milton Ramos.

Delmarva scratched the scoreboard first in the second inning, scoring two runs thanks to an RBI double by Gerrion Grim and an RBI groundout by Milton Ramos.

The Shorebirds added another in the third on a Collin Woody RBI single for the early 3-0 lead. Delmarva would add two more in the sixth inning, but the Braves began to rally in the bottom half with a two run double by Lucas Herbert and a sacrifice fly by Kevin Josephina to make it a 5-3 game. The teams then began going back and forth as Delmarva scored two more in the seventh on another Woody RBI single and a run scoring wild pitch, while the Braves countered with one more in the bottom half on a Jordan Rodgers RBI single making it a 7-4 game. Delmarva added one more in the ninth inning for the 8-4 final.
Jhon Peluffo (6-4) earns the win for Delmarva, while Bryse Wilson (7-5) is hit with the loss. Matt Trowbridge (4) gets the save.         
The Braves and Shorebirds will square off in game two tomorrow afternoon at 2p.m.
