Rome lost three separate leads and ultimately lost a game it should have won on Thursday evening against the Asheville Tourists, dropping the series opener 4-3 on a walk-off single by Kyle Datres with the bases loaded and two outs in the 9th inning.

The Rome offense showed up in a big way on Sunday evening, smacking four homeruns and smacking down the Kannapolis pitching staff in a 9-3 Braves win. Griffin Benson hit two homers and drove in four runs as Rome salvaged the final game of the series. The Braves finished their road trip with three wins and three losses, leaving them with a share of 1st place.

The Rome Braves got clutch hits late from Griffin Benson to erase a pair of Kannapolis leads but it wasn't enough as the Intimidators got a walk-off single from Andrew Vaughn in the Bottom of the 9th inning to defeat Rome 6-5. The loss gave the series to Kannapolis and put the Braves back into a tie for 1st place in the Southern Division with Augusta.

The Rome Braves defeated the Charleston RiverDogs 3-1 in their series finale on Thursday night, igniting the game-winning rally with their patience at the plate. Trailing 1-0 in the 7th inning the Braves used five walks and an RBI single from Jose Bermudez to score three runs and take the rubber game of the set. Coupled with an Augusta loss, the Braves claimed sole possession of 1st place in the Southern Division.
