Bobbleheads, fireworks, other giveaways highlight schedule

The Rome Braves 17th season promises to be the best yet as the 2019 promotional calendar has been released. Highlighting this year's calendar are three fireworks nights, four bobblehead giveaways, three specialty jersey nights, a blanket giveaway, a Braves replica powder blue jersey giveaway and many more giveaways and other promotions. Popular theme nights continue with Beach Night, Super-Hero Night, Halfway to Halloween Night, College & High School Rivals Night along with other various theme nights.

Braves, Floyd County Extend Lease Agreement

In conjunction with Floyd County, the Rome Braves announced that the two parties have extended their lease agreement at State Mutual Stadium to continue funneling baseball talent through Northwest Georgia for the next seven years and potentially longer.

Hot Stove Gathering to be Held January 28th

Rome Braves Field Staff and Atlanta Braves Manager Brian Snitker Scheduled

The 2019 Hot Stove Gathering will be held at the Forum River Center in downtown Rome on Monday January 28th from 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Scheduled guests include the Rome Braves manager Matt Tuiasosopo, hitting coach Bobby Moore, and coach Wigberto Nevarez. In addition to the Rome staff, National League Manager of the Year Brian Snitker along with Atlanta Braves Executive Vice President and General Manager Alex Anthopoulos will also be on hand.

Matt Tuiasosopo Named as Field Manager

The Rome Braves and Atlanta Braves congratulate manager Brian Snitker on winning the 2018 National League Manager of the Year award. Snitker captured 17 of 30 first-place votes from the Baseball Writers' Association of America (BBWAA), which has presented the award since 1983. While never managing in Rome, Snitker is a huge supporter of Rome Braves Baseball having attended the annual Hot Stove Gathering for many consecutive years. In 2016 when Rome was awarded Baseball America's Minor League Team of the Year, Snitker was in attendance in Washington, D.C. as the team accepted the award.

Former Rome Brave Ronald Acuña Jr. Named Rookie of the Year

Acuña Jr. is the eighth Braves player and second former Rome Brave to win the award

The Rome Braves and Atlanta Braves congratulate OF Ronald Acuña Jr. on winning the 2018 National League Jackie Robinson Rookie of the Year award. Acuña Jr. captured 27 of 30 first-place votes from the Baseball Writers' Association of America (BBWAA), which has given the award nationally since 1947. Acuña Jr., 20, finished his first major league season hitting .293 (127-for-433) with a team-high 26 home runs, a .917 OPS and 16 steals in 111 games. He became one of five players in baseball history to reach 26 home runs in a season prior to his 21st birthday and is the 10th player in history to have 25 home runs and 15 steals in his rookie season and the first since Mike Trout in 2012. He becomes the eighth Braves player to win the Rookie of the Year award and the first since former Rome Brave Craig Kimbrel did it in 2011. The last Braves position player to be named Rookie of the Year was SS Rafael Furcal in 2000.

2019 Game Times Released

Game times for the 2019 Rome Braves home schedule have been announced. (Schedule attached) Rome will play four (4) 10:30 a.m. Education Day games in additional to nine (9) 1 p.m. weekday games. The rest of the schedule features the regular 7 p.m. (Mon-Fri), 2 p.m. (Sundays) and 6 p.m. (Saturdays) start times.

Atlanta Braves and their Minor League affiliates to collect food and supply donations for Hurricane Michael relief efforts through end of October

All items will be distributed to Feeding Florida and Feeding the Valley food banks

The Atlanta Braves, Rome Braves, Mississippi Braves and Gwinnett Stripers, will collect food and supply donations through the end of the month to assist those effected by Hurricane Michael. All items donated will be given to Feeding Florida, which assists the Panhandle and Tallahassee areas, and Feeding the Valley, which aids Southwest Georgia and Columbus. The team is also asking Braves Country to donate to the Red Cross Hurricane Relief efforts by visiting www.redcross.org/atlantabraves.
