It's time for the Rome Braves to gear up for another season at State Mutual Stadium. We're looking for energetic, hardworking people with outgoing personalities to add to our part-time/seasonal game day staff. Click Here to go to the Braves Careers site on Workday to fill out an application. All applicants must be at least 16 years of age and able to work nights, weekends and holidays.

Below is a list of possible positions for the 2020 season.

Bartenders are responsible for maintaining one of various bars at State Mutual Stadium. Bartenders are hired in various locations around the stadium including the Three Rivers Club, The Terrace Bar, Bucket Bar and other concession bar areas. General bartender duties include preparing drinks for customers, managing a bank of money, checking out customers, restocking on a daily basis and assisting with other duties as needed pending bar location. Bartenders work as scheduled by the hiring manager (varies by bar location). Must be 18+ years of age and must have a pouring license.

Bat boys are responsible for assisting the clubhouse attendant with any clubhouse related duties as requested. These duties may include polishing cleats, vacuuming, making dugout/bullpen coolers, setting up dugouts and bullpens prior to game time, breaking down dugouts and bullpens after games, etc. Primary, gameday duties include dragging bats, working bullpens, shagging foul balls, etc. Batboys report as scheduled by the hiring manager and sometimes work a limited time post-game.

Brigade Members must be friendly, always exhibit great customer service and represent the Rome Braves in a professional manner. Brigade members must participate in an open tryout as scheduled (visit us online for more) and make the Braves Brigade Team annually. Members must be at least 18 years of age or a graduating high school senior and have a minimum of two years cheer/dance experience. The Braves Brigade serves as the Promo Team and must always maintain appearance of various assigned areas and help maintain orderly lines for gate entrance and other activities inside the stadium. Members must assist with all promotional giveaways and work as scheduled by the Community Relations and Special Events Manager.

Camera Operators must have strong electronic skills with previous camera-work experience preferred in order to operate various cameras throughout State Mutual Stadium. Camera operators must be willing to cross-train on other equipment as requested and must learn quickly. Operators must listen and respond adequately to direction via the production director and follow a nightly game production script. Operators generally report one hour prior to game time and work through the end of the game or until dismissed.

Concession cashiers are responsible for ringing up concession orders, taking money, making change and effectively balancing a cash register drawer on a nightly basis. Cashiers work as scheduled by the concessions manager and/or Director of Food and Beverage. Cashiers may be required to stay after the conclusion of game, pending actual time of stand closure, unless released by supervisor prior to.

Catering food prep staff will assist in cooking, preparing, packaging, transporting, displaying, serving, restocking and cleaning in designated catering areas. Catering food prep staff will follow a set schedule provided by the Director of Culinary Services.

In-game clean team members assist in keeping concourses, restrooms, suite level and all traffic areas void of trash during games. Clean team members will replace overflow trash cans with new liner bags and dispose of full liners to the proper areas. Clean team members will be the first to the scene of spills, droppings, etc. Clean team members work as scheduled by the Operations Manager.

Concession stand attendants assist in cooking, preparing, packaging, displaying, serving, restocking and cleaning in designated fixed concession stands at State Mutual Stadium. Concession stand attendants shall be flexible in both food prep and food service areas. Concession stand attendants work as scheduled by the concessions manager and/or Director of Food and Beverage. Concession stand attendants may be required to stay after the conclusion of game, pending actual time of stand closure, unless released by supervisor prior to.

Line cooks are the main cooks and do 80-90% of all cooking in the restaurant kitchen or in a concession stand. Cooks operate all restaurant related equipment and machinery in the kitchen including but not limited to fryers, grills, cutters, etc. Cooks fill orders on a timely basis, make sure all food served is cooked properly and guarantee correct presentation prior to the order leaving the kitchen. Cooks work as scheduled by the concessions manager, Director of Culinary Services or Director of Food and Beverage, pending cooking location.

Customer Service Representatives must have strong interpersonal skills and provide excellent customer service. These representatives must be attentive to guest needs, have full knowledge of all policies, services and facility locations. Representatives must be approachable and friendly, remain calm at all times and be adept at dealing with complaints. Some light lifting required. Customer Service Representatives work as scheduled by the Community Relations and Special Events Manager.

Event Security Staff are responsible for enforcing all rules, regulations, policies and ordinances of the Rome Braves and State Mutual Stadium. These positions include security guards and door guards. Security officers are not the primary source of stadium security but offer an additional form of security to various areas of the ballpark including monitoring all stairwells, elevators, secure door access and other VIP areas such as club access, restaurant, suites and private group party areas. Security reports as scheduled by the hiring manager and remains one hour after the game ends, or less, pending crowd size.

Grounds crew staff will assist the Field Turf Manager with mowing, edging, weeding, mulching, etc. around the playing surface and the facility's perimeter. This position must be an outdoors person, have a "green thumb" and adapt well in the heat of the summer. Grounds crew staff will follow a schedule provided by the Field Turf Manager.

Kid Zone Attendants must interact and work especially well around small children. These attendants monitor access to and sell wristbands for children's use of inflatable jumps, bounce houses, slides and other interactive games for small kids. Kid Zone Attendants must assist in setting up and breaking down the Kid Zone area daily. Must be able to withstand the summer heat.

Mascots must wear one of the three (3) Rome Braves mascot costumes and interact with fans during pre-game and in-game festivities. Mascots are sometimes requested to work special events and/or off-site appearances throughout the season. Mascots must be able to withstand the summer heat, especially when wearing the costumes.

Mascot Attendants must walk with the mascots at all times to assist in directing their path through the crowd and stepping into smaller spaces safely and efficiently. Mascot Attendants should be approachable by guests, friendly at all times and work well with children.

Merchandise store attendants assist the Merchandise Manager in operating the primary Tradin' Post retail store along with the secondary Hat Shack discount outlet and Shirt Shack customization location. Retail attendants will also hawk souvenir programs and other items as requested. Attendants must greet customers, show customers new items, sell gifts, operate a cash register and balance daily, bag/box up sale items, restock as needed. Some light lifting is required. Merchandise Store Attendants works as scheduled by the Merchandise Manager.

Money audit staff will sort, count, balance and record cash revenue taken in during a game or stadium event. Must have previous accounting experience and/or degree, bank teller/management experience, etc. Must be able to balance on a nightly basis and pass a criminal and credit background check. Money audit staff works as scheduled by the hiring manager, usually arriving 1 hour prior to game time and working 1-2+ hours post-game. Must be able work late evenings, especially on weekends.

The three (3) similar, yet different, positions include Official Scorer, Trackman Tagger and Datacaster/Gameday Stringer. The Official Scorer keeps the actual score book by hand during all games and is responsible for the official ruling on all calls during a game. The OS must be receptive to criticism and open to feedback in discussing initial rulings. The Datacaster/Gameday Stringer inputs all pitches and all plays based on the OS ruling into MLB/MiLB's electronic scoring program. The Trackman Tagger inputs all pitches, tagged appropriately by pitch, along with play results based on the OS ruling into the electronic Trackman scoring system. All positions must have an in-depth knowledge of official baseball rules. All positions report 30 minutes prior to game time and stay up to 30 minutes after the conclusion of the game.

Parking attendants are responsible for getting all patron vehicles into the parking areas in a timely and orderly fashion per event. Pending exact lot position, parking attendants may be responsible for taking money for parking fees and directing vehicles to specific parking areas and ultimately point out which spot to park in. Parking attendants may also direct patrons out of the parking lots as they leave the facility. Parking attendants work as scheduled by the Director of Stadium Operations.

Party hosts/hostesses assist in the Suzuki Showcase Team and Birthday Party Area. Must have strong interpersonal skills and provide excellent customer service. Duties include but are not limited to food/beverage setup/presentation, restocking as needed, assisting patrons to their party area, assisting with problems that may occur, etc.

Press box attendants work in a variety of positions inside the State Mutual Stadium Press Box. General press box attendants are available to assist the Media Relations Manager with various requests including working with media members, radio announcers, PA announcer, official scorer, scoreboard operators, videoboard operators, etc.

Restaurant hosts/hostesses assist in the Three Rivers Club Restaurant and Bar. Must have strong interpersonal skills and provide excellent customer service. Duties include but are not limited to food/beverage prep and setup/presentation, restocking of food/beverage, assisting patrons to their table or seating area, assisting patrons with problems that occur inside the restaurant, etc. Restaurant hosts/hostesses work as scheduled by the Director of Culinary Services.

Kitchen prep staff assist in cooking, preparing, packaging, displaying, serving, restocking and cleaning the restaurant kitchen. Kitchen prep staff shall be flexible in both food prep and food service areas. Prior food prep and food service experience preferred. Must exhibit strong customer service skills, maintain a neat appearance and perform under high stress levels and potentially volatile situations. Kitchen staff works as scheduled by the Director of Culinary Services.

Restaurant wait staff serve as waiters and waitresses for the Three Rivers Club Restaurant and Bar. Staff must possess strong customer service skills, strong communication skills and have strong written skills, etc. Restaurant wait staff takes food and drink orders from patrons, inputs orders into the POS system, serves the orders previously taken, provides the bill at the conclusion of the dining experience, etc. Wait staff works as scheduled by the Director of Culinary Services.

Suite Attendants assist with game day operations on the Suite Level at State Mutual Stadium. Duties include but are not limited to food and beverage prep, in-suite setup/presentation and in-suite restocking of food and beverage. Attendants must also assist suite holders with access to their private suite, take catering and drink orders as needed and finalize checks late in the game while also assisting fans with any problems that occur during games. Attendants must assist with post-game cleaning, pulling trash and breaking down catering dishes to return to the restaurant kitchen. Suite Attendants also work and maintain parties on The Terrace and assist with The Terrace Bar each evening. Suite Attendants work as scheduled by the Suites and Catering Manager.

Ticket Sellers sell game tickets to patrons via the live gate ticket windows at State Mutual Stadium using Ticketmaster software. Ticket Sellers must possess superior customer service skills, manage an issued bank of money nightly and work well/learn computer software (Ticketmaster). Ticket Sellers report and work as directed by the Ticket Manager, usually a couple hours prior to the scheduled game time and are dismissed during the middle-to-late innings.

Ticket Takers must be courteous and knowledgeable. The primary responsibility of this position is to scan/collect a valid ticket from each guest who enters State Mutual Stadium while welcoming them to the facility. Ticket Takers work as scheduled by the Ticket Manager, approximately four to six hours per game but subject to change pending attendance.

An Usher acts as the host to all guests during their visit to State Mutual Stadium. Each usher will be assigned a specific seating section and/or area of the ballpark. Ushers are responsible for making sure guests are seated in their correct, ticketed location. Ushers must also be able to withstand the heat of the summer and are expected to wipe-down seats prior to gates opening to the public. It is important that each Usher try to anticipate guests' problems and never avoid or ignore those problems. Ushers work as scheduled by the Ticket Manager, approximately 5-6 hours per game but subject to change.

Videoboard Operators must have strong electronic skills and computer software skills in order to operate various programs running one or more of the three video boards at State Mutual Stadium. Videoboard operators must be willing to cross-train on all equipment located in the production room and must learn quickly and easily. Operators must listen and respond adequately to direction via the production director and follow a nightly game production script. Operators generally report one hour prior to game time and work through the end of the game or until dismissed.

Warehouse Attendants assist with stocking and restocking all concession stands, suites and restaurant facilities throughout the stadium. Attendants must be reliable, organized and efficient when working and navigating through large crowds. Warehouse attendants also assist with large group/private party areas as needed and help with service as requested pending staffing needs. Heavy lifting required. Warehouse attendants work as scheduled by the Operations Manager.

Trainees

Trainees are an integral part of the Rome Braves. A trainee will work under a full-time Rome Braves staff member learning the ins and outs of working in minor league baseball. Trainee positions are available running from March to September (end of the season).
