Both teams struggled to muster any offense early on as the game remained tied until the sixth inning.

It was the Braves who got on the board first in the sixth, when Cristian Pache notched an RBI single to give Rome the 1-0 lead. Backed by more strong pitching, the Braves padded their lead in the eighth inning, highlighted by Lucas Herbert's two RBI double to take a 4-0 lead. Rome would shut down Lakewood in the ninth inning en route to the 4-0 final. Tucker Davidson had a good outing for Rome going six shutout innings giving up five hits with four strikeouts.
Davidson (3-4) gets the win while Bailey Falter (3-9) takes the loss for the BlueClaws.
Rome and Lakewood will square off in a doubleheader tomorrow due to a rain-related postponement from last week.
