Braves Walk Off in Twelfth For Eight Straight

Willie Abreu tripled to score a run and Tyler Nevin added a sacrifice fly RBI in the first inning to give Asheville an early 2-0 lead.

The Braves made it a 2-1 game in the second thanks to a Leudys Baez run scoring single. In the third, Asheville crossed the plate two more times for the 4-1 lead on a double steal with runners at first and third and Bobby Werns RBI single. Rome continued to chip away at the lead in the fourth on Kurt Hoekstra's single to score a run for the 4-2 score. The bottom half of the fifth inning saw Rome take the lead with three runs on a bases loaded walk by Isranel Wilson, and a two out two run single by Baez making it a 5-4 game. Asheville tied the contest in the seventh on a groundout to score a run by Wernes.  
The game remained tied until the bottom of the 12th when Kurt Hoekstra delivered the game winning single to give the Braves their eighth straight win.    
Matt Custred (1-3) gets the win for Rome while Juan Pena (0-1) suffers the loss for Asheville.
The Braves and Tourists play again tomorrow night at 7p.m.
