Brock Holt to rehab with Portland on Wednesday

Joins Sea Dogs for second time this season

Portland, Maine - The Boston Red Sox have assigned INF/OF Brock Holt to the Portland Sea Dogs to continue his Major League Rehab Assignment. Holt has been on Boston's 60-day disabled list since June 27th (vertigo), and is scheduled to play in the next three games with the Sea Dogs.

Portland, Maine - The Boston Red Sox have assigned INF/OF Brock Holt to the Portland Sea Dogs to continue his Major League Rehab Assignment. Holt has been on Boston's 60-day disabled list since June 27th (vertigo), and is scheduled to play in the next three games with the Sea Dogs.

Holt appeared in one game with Portland on a MLB Rehab Assignment on May 6th and went 1-for-3 against the Reading Fightin Phils. He joins the Sea Dogs after three games with Triple-A Pawtucket, hitting .300 (3-for-10) with a homer and 3 RBI from July 1-3.
 
Holt became the 45th player to rehab with Portland and the 38th as a Red Sox affiliate back on May 6th. In addition to Holt, Eduardo Rodriguez and Josh Rutledge have done MLB Rehab assignments this year with the Sea Dogs.
The Boston Red Sox acquired Holt from the Pittsburgh Pirates along with
Joel Hanrahan for 2B Iván De Jesús Jr., RHP Mark Melancon, RHP Stolmy Pimentel
and LF Jerry Sands on December 26, 2012.
 
Holt is 2-for-15 with the Red Sox this season, appearing in 6 games.
