On Tuesday, the Cats defeated the Aviators 5-3. They committed no errors for their fifth consecutive game, their longest streak since June 4-8, 2025 (also 5). Their longest consecutive error-less streak in team history is seven, done twice before (2021 and 2009). John Michael Bertrand was the starter but did not factor into the decision. He pitched 4.2 scoreless innings before allowing a three-run homer to Colby Thomas and being replaced by reliever Braxton Roxby. Bertrand gave up four hits, four walks, and fanned one batter. Nate Furman and Jesús Rodríguez each recorded their first home runs of the season; Furman had a solo shot to right in the third, followed by a Drew Gilbert single, and then Rodríguez’s 389-foot shot to left.
The River Cats won Wednesday’s game, 8-7, in walkoff fashion. They are now 3-0 in extras, and 3-1 in walkoff situations this season; their only loss coming in the seven-inning Game 1 of their doubleheader at Salt Lake on April 4.
