Righty is 5th Driller to Be Selected This Season

Tulsa, OK - The Texas League announced that Tulsa Drillers starting pitcher Walker Buehler has been honored as the Pitcher of the Week for the period of June 29 - July 2. He is the fifth Driller to be awarded one of the weekly awards this season following in the

Tulsa, OK - The Texas League announced that Tulsa Drillers starting pitcher Walker Buehler has been honored as the Pitcher of the Week for the period of June 29 - July 2. He is the fifth Driller to be awarded one of the weekly awards this season following in the footsteps of Jose Miguel Fernandez, Edwin Ríos, Kyle Farmer and Scott Barlow who each previously received the honor.
Buehler was selected following his dominant performance against the Frisco RoughRiders on Friday, June 30 where he struck out 7 RoughRiders over 5.1 shutout innings while allowing just a single hit.
Since being promoted to the Drillers on May 12 from Single-A Rancho Cucamonga, Buehler has been living up to high expectations as the LA Dodgers #4 overall prospect as he has gone 2-2 with a 2.85 ERA over 9 starts. He has struck out 51 opposing batters while only walking 10 over his 41 innings pitched.

Buehler will be pitching against the RoughRiders again this evening as the Drillers begin a 6-game homestand that will run through Monday, July 10. Each of the six games against the RoughRiders and the Midland RockHounds will begin at 7:05 PM with gates opening at 6:00 PM.
