Bullpen scoreless in 4-3 win at New Hampshire

Dahlstrand earns first win in relief

Manchester, N.H. - The Portland Sea Dogs (21-20) received six scoreless innings from their bullpen, and beat the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (16-29), 4-3, Wednesday morning at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium. With the win, the 'Dogs are now 3-3 on their 7-game roadtrip.

Manchester, N.H. - The Portland Sea Dogs (21-20) received six scoreless innings from their bullpen, and beat the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (16-29), 4-3, Wednesday morning at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium. With the win, the 'Dogs are now 3-3 on their 7-game roadtrip.

Jacob Dahlstrand (3-1) was terrific for the Sea Dogs in relief of Jalen Beeks (ND). Dahlstrand earned his first relief win, tossing 4 innings on 3 hits, no walks and 3 strikeouts. Jake Cosart closed out the win with two innings on one hit, earning a save for his second consecutive appearance.
 
The Sea Dogs went to work early, scoring twice off losing pitcher Conner Greene (1-4) in the first inning. Danny Mars led off the game with a walk and advanced to third on a single by Tzu-Wei Lin. On a hit and run, Rafael Devers laced an RBI single to left. Nick Longhi followed by hitting into a double play, which scored the second run.
 
Portland made it 3-0 in the second inning on a run-scoring single by Deiner Lopez. Lopez appeared in right field for the first time this season. Mike Olt led off the fourth with his fifth homer of the season, giving the 'Dogs a 4-1 lead. 
Jalen Beeks threw 79 pitches over 3+ innings and left the game in the fourth with Portland leading 4-2. Dahlstrand yielded an RBI single to Andrew Guillotte, cutting the deficit to 4-3. The following batter, Danny Jansen, singled to right, but Lopez threw out Gunnar Height at the plate. 
Portland received a hit from eight of nine starters, and finished the game 3-for-9 with runners-in-scoring position. The loss for New Hampshire snapped their four-game winning streak. Mars became the first player this season to steal two bases in a game.
 
The Portland Sea Dogs and New Hampshire Fisher Cats conclude their four-game series on Thursday night, beginning at 6:35 PM from Northeast Delta Dental Stadium. LHP Trey Ball makes the start for the Sea Dogs. LHP Shane Dawson is on the mound for New Hampshire.
