Bullpen Strong As Rainiers Fall To 51s, 5-2

TACOMA, Wash. - The Tacoma Rainiers (41-39) dropped their series finale to the Las Vegas 51s (36-44) by a final score of 5-2 on Thursday night at Cheney Stadium.
Catcher David Freitas and second baseman Adam Law both finished the night 2-for-4 with a double apiece to lead the Rainiers on offense. Center fielder Andrew Aplin (1x4, R, RBI, BB) and first baseman Daniel Vogelbach (1x4, BB) both reached base multiple times.

Rainiers starting pitcher Christian Bergman (4-6) lasted just four innings and took the loss - he allowed five runs (four earned) on seven hits while walking one and striking out six.
Matt Tenuta (2.1 IP), Ryan Garton (1.2 IP), and Shawn Armstrong (1.0 IP) held the 51s scoreless over the final five frames of the night. The group combined to allow just two hits and struck out three. It was the seventh straight scoreless outing for Armstrong, who was selected to the 2018 Triple-A All-Star Game earlier this morning.
The Rainiers kick off a five-game series against the Reno Aces at Cheney Stadium beginning on Friday night at 7:05 p.m. PT. Rainiers right-hander Bryan Evans (1-0, 7.27) will get the start opposite Aces right-hander Matt Koch (0-0, 1.42).
