Captains Start Eight-Game Home Stand Friday

Home Stand Heroes Weekend, Buck Night and the 15th Anniversary Celebration

(Eastlake, OH) - The Lake County Captains, the Class A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians, will begin an eight-game home stand on Friday, June 9 vs. the Bowling Green Hot Rods (Tampa Bay Rays.) The Captains and Hot Rods will finish a suspended game during their regularly scheduled four-game series.

(Eastlake, OH) - The Lake County Captains, the Class A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians, will begin an eight-game home stand on Friday, June 9 vs. the Bowling Green Hot Rods (Tampa Bay Rays.) The Captains and Hot Rods will finish a suspended game during their regularly scheduled four-game series. The Fort Wayne TinCaps (San Diego Padres) come to Classic Park to conclude the home stand with a three-game series beginning on Tuesday June 13.
Friday, will be another Friday Fireworks Night presented by Highland Springs. Gates open at 5:30 PM on Friday and first pitch is at 7:00 PM. The Fireworks will be shot off to patriotic music. Friday is the first day of Heroes Weekend and the Captains will honor all first responders. The first 1,500 fans through the gates will receive a Stipe Miocic bobblehead courtesy of Lake Health. Stipe is not only a mixed martial arts heavyweight champion but he is also a part-time firefighter.

Saturday is a Saturday Fireworks Night presented by Monreal Funeral Home and Cremation Service. First pitch is at 7:00PM. Gates open two hours prior to first pitch at 5:00 PM. Heroes Weekend continues with Military Night. Fans can bid on a local Heroes-themed jersey. The fans that have the highest bids in the silent auction for the jerseys get to meet the player on the field after the game and get the jersey autographed. Fireworks will once again be shot off to a patriotic soundtrack.
The home stand continues on Sunday, June 11. Sunday will once again be a Family Fun Sunday Powered by NOPEC. Family Fun Sundays include pre-game catch on the field (12:30-12:50), pre-game player autograph sessions (12:35-12:55), concourse entertainment and post-game Kids Run the Bases. First pitch is scheduled for 1:30 PM and gates open at 12:30. The Captains will finish a suspended game from April 19th, which will resume with two outs in the top of the fifth inning with the Hot Rods batting. The Captains will be trailing 2-0. After the suspended game is completed, the two clubs will play their regularly scheduled game. The second game will be a seven-inning contest. 
Monday is another Monday Buck Night, presented by the Ohio Lottery and will feature $1 Five Star Brand Hot Dogs, soda and domestic draft beer. Fans can also present a non-winning Ohio Lottery scratch-off game at the Classic Park box office and receive a $1 discount to that night's game. The first 100 fans age 18 or older will also receive an Ohio Lottery Instant Game. Gates will open at 6:00PM.
Tuesday, June 13 fans can support The Willoughby Food Pantry, which has partnered with the Captains. All charity partners this year will be hunger-related and fans who bring one of the following items will receive a free ticket to the game: canned tuna, spaghetti sauce, soup, stew, applesauce, Hamburger Helper or Manwich. First pitch for Tuesday night is scheduled for 7 PM with gates opening at 6:00 PM.
Wednesday is the second of three scheduled Senior Days, Presented by Wickliffe County Place. Seniors who attend the game can enjoy some free coffee and compete in baseball bingo. Gates will open at 11:00 AM First pitch is scheduled for noon.
Thursday, June 15 the Captains will celebrate 15 seasons of baseball and fans are encouraged to share their best Captains memories via social media. The Captains' inaugural season was in 2003 and the Captains joined the Midwest League in 2010, the same year they won their only championship in franchise history. The 2010 Championship Trophy will be on display.
Thursday, will be another Thirsty Thursday, presented by Labatt. Thirsty Thursday will feature a pre-game happy hour featuring $1 Labatt Blue draft beer and $2 off craft beer at Castaway's Bar along the third base side of the ballpark. Fans can also enjoy half-price domestic drafts and fountain soda until 9PM.
Date Night is back for the 2017 season. Each Thursday night game, fans can purchase two tickets for $44 and receive admission to The Officer's Club suite, as well as an all-you-can-eat buffet and non-alcoholic beverages. First Pitch is scheduled for 7:00PM and gates open at 6:00PM.
