ROUND ROCK, TX - Iowa Cubs catcher Victor Caratini and right-hander Matt Carasiti were named to the All-Pacific Coast League team, the league announced Monday.

This is the fourth consecutive season in which an I-Cub has netted post-season recognition from the PCL and the first time since 2014 that multiple Iowa Cubs have been honored in a season (2B Arismendy Alcantara, LH SP Tsuyoshi Wada, RH RP Blake Parker).
Caratini has had a career year, batting .343 (98-for-286) for Iowa, while also recording his major league debut. With eight games remaining in Iowa's schedule, the catcher has already claimed career highs in home runs (10) and RBI (60), while his average sits more than 50 points higher than any of his other minor league campaigns. His RBI total, average and slugging percentage (.556) lead the Iowa Cubs this season.
The 24-year-old earned his first big league promotion on June 28, debuting for Chicago the same day. He collected his first big league hit on July 9 against Pittsburgh, going 3-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI in that game. Caratini has totaled two stints in Chicago this season, hitting .268 (11-for-41) with three doubles, one home run and two RBI.
The Puerto Rican native was selected to both the PCL All-Star team and the Futures Game, but was unable to play in either due to his promotion. He was also recognize by the Chicago Cubs, collecting the organization's Minor League Player of the Month honors for both May and June.
Carasiti, acquired by the Cubs from Colorado in a trade for lefty Zac Rosscup on June 26, established himself as one of the most dominant closers in the PCL this season. In 27 games with Albuquerque prior to the trade, Carasiti boasted a 2.37 ERA (8ER/30.1IP) with 13 saves and 43 strikeouts in 30.1 innings.
The 26-year-old saw some struggles following his transition to Iowa, but still managed to convert seven of eight save opportunities, while fanning 23 through 17.0 innings. Nearing the end of the season, Carasiti holds a 3.04 overall ERA (16ER/47.1IP) with a league-leading 20 saves.
Carasiti was named to the PCL All-Star team this season - his second career minor league all-star selection
The I-Cubs wrap up their regular season with an eight-game road trip, kicking off with a 6:35 game tonight in Memphis. Follow the action on AM 940 or www.iowacubs.com.
