Prevost limited the Tortugas to two runs, one earned, over seven innings. He scattered five hits, walked four and struck out a season-high seven. It was Prevost's fourth straight quality start in May. The Mets are 4-0 in his starts this month. He owns a 1.70 ERA in May after finishing April with a 7.71 ERA.
The Mets broke a 1-1 tie in the third inning. After Tortugas starter
Carpio came up and quickly fell behind 0-2. But he drove a 1-2 pitch into the left-center field gap to clear the bases with a three-run double. The hit put the Mets up 4-1. It was the first extra base hit for the Mets with the bases loaded this year. They were previously 6 for 40 with six singles.
The Tortugas scored an unearned run off of Prevost in the bottom of the third with a two-out RBI single from T.J. Friedl.
