Omaha starting pitcher Foster Griffin twirled his fourth consecutive quality outing, designated hitter Cheslor Cuthbert homered in his second straight game and the Storm Chasers took advantage of three Iowa Cubs errors in a 4-3 victory on Saturday evening at Principal Park.

Griffin (6.0 IP, 5 H, 3 R, ER, 3 BB, 3 K), entered Saturday play sixth in the Pacific Coast League in batting average against (.213), yielded three runs, two of which were unearned, over six innings to earn his team-best third triumph. Over his last four starts, the southpaw has compiled a 2-0 record and 2.25 ERA (6 ER/24.0 IP), yielded two earned runs or less over six innings in each of those outings.
Omaha southpaw Jonathan Dziedzic (2.0 IP, 3 BB, K) followed Griffin with two shutout frames, while Ben Lively (1.0 IP, H, BB, 2 K) notched the save with a scoreless ninth. Cubs starter Colin Rea (5.0 IP, 5 H, 4 R, ER, BB, 5 K) suffered the defeat.
Cuthbert clubbed a solo shot, his fifth of the season, in the third to give the Storm Chasers the 1-0 advantage. Two innings later, Cuthbert would come plateward on LF Elier Hernandez 's RBI single to left to increase the margin to two. 1B Samir Dueñez later came across when C Andrew Susac reached on an error before Susac and Hernandez executed a double steal, with Hernandez stealing home to cap the frame.
Iowa cut Omaha's lead in half in the bottom of the fourth by taking advantage of a Storm Chasers error, further narrowing the score to 4-3 thanks to 3B Robel Garcia's run-scoring single to left. The Cubs would later threaten with the bases loaded in the eighth, however Dziedzic was able to quell the threat and keep Iowa from tying the contest.
The two teams are set to continue their four-game series on Sunday afternoon, with first pitch scheduled for 1:08pm CT. RHP Josh Staumont (0-2, 2.81) is anticipated to toe the rubber for Omaha, with RHP Alec Mills (0-0, 8.87) expected to start for Iowa.
Following their nine-game road trip, Omaha returns to Werner Park on Tuesday, May 21 to begin a nine-game homestand. First pitch of the series opener versus the Iowa Cubs that evening is set for 6:35pm CT.
