Chicago Cubs Recall RH Felix Pena

DES MOINES - The Chicago Cubs recalled right-hander Félix Peña from the Iowa Cubs today and optioned righty Justin Grimm.

DES MOINES - The Chicago Cubs recalled right-hander Félix Peña from the Iowa Cubs today and optioned righty Justin Grimm.

Pena, 27, collected a 1.86 ERA (2ER/9.2IP) and converted four of five save opportunities in eight games with Iowa. He held opponents scoreless in all but one outing while walking six and fanning 11. This is the second career major league stint for the righty as he was selected by Chicago last August. At that time, Pena appeared in 11 games, notching a 4.00 ERA (4ER/9.0IP) with three walks and 13 strikeouts.
Grimm, 28, amassed a 7.30 ERA (10ER/12.1IP) through 12 games with Chicago, adding eight walks and 14 strikeouts. He made eight starts for the I-Cubs in 2013 following a trade from Texas and has appeared in one game for Iowa in each of the last two seasons. He is 2-3 with a 4.47 ERA (22ER/44.1) overall as an Iowa Cub.
Iowa wraps up a series with the New Orleans Baby Cakes tonight at 7. Tomorrow, the team returns to Principal Park for a four-game set with the Memphis Redbirds.
