Geneva, IL - The Peoria Chiefs lost a completely meaningless game between playoff teams Friday night with a 3-0 setback to the Kane County Cougars to end a six-game win streak. The Chiefs are now 37-31 in the second half with two games left in the regular season.

Kane County took a 1-0 lead off Chiefs starter Austin Warner in the second inning when Stephen Smith led off with his second home run of the season. After the second inning the game went into a 90-minute rain delay and neither starting pitcher returned.
After the Chiefs loaded the bases with one out but didn't score, the Cougars scored an unearned run in the third inning against reliever Bryan Dobzanski. They added a run with a two-out double and single in the fifth to go up 3-0.
Warner (2-4) took the loss as he was limited by rain to a career-low two innings. He gave up one run on three hits and struck out one while hitting a batter. Dobzanski allowed two runs, one earned, on five hits over 2 2/3 innings while walking one. Colton Thomson struck out four over 2 1/3 perfect innings. Dewin Perez walked one, struck out one and allowed a hit in one shutout inning.
