Peoria, IL - The Peoria Chiefs lost the final game of their six-game home stand to the South Bend Cubs 4-0 on Saturday night at Dozer Park. The Chiefs are now 12-21 overall and have an off day on Sunday before heading to Cedar Rapids for a double-header on Monday.
    The Cubs got to Chiefs starter Bryan Dobzanski in the first inning. Zack Short, Yeiler Peguero, and Alberto Mineo all walked to load the bases and Wladimir Galindo drove two runs home with a single to center to give the Cubs a 2-0 lead. Jhonny Pereda hit in to a double play to get Peoria out of the inning.

    South Bend scored again in the second on Dobzanski, when Isaac Paredes led off with a single and Kevonte Mitchell doubled to right-center to score Paredes and extend the Cubs lead to 3-0. Dobzanski retired the next three hitters to end the inning.
    In the ninth inning, Mitchell homered to right-center field against Eric Carter to score the final run of the game. The long ball was the first allowed at Dozer Park by Carter this season and gave South Bend a 4-0 lead.
    The closest the Chiefs came to scoring was in the ninth inning when Andrew Knizner led off with a double to right-field against Wyatt Short. Short got Brian O'Keefe to ground out before striking out Dylan Carlson and Matt Davis to end the game.
    Dobzanski (0-3) lost and threw five innings while allowing three runs on six hits with four walks and six strikeouts. Austin Sexton went two innings while allowing one hit with four strikeouts in his second appearance of the season. Brady Bowen did not allow a hit or run in an inning of work and struck out two. Carter threw the ninth inning, allowing one run and a hit including Mitchell's homer in the ninth.
Notes… Knizner now has a 10-game hit streak, the longest this season by a Chiefs player… O'Keefe has a five-game hitting streak… Tonight was the first time this season the Chiefs wore their light blue uniforms… This was the first time the Chiefs have been swept this season, the last time they were swept in a three-game series at Dozer Park was April 21-23 against Quad Cities… Dobzanski tied a career-high with six strikeouts and set a career high with four walks… The Chiefs are 1-1 at home and 1-4 overall on Saturdays… Young collected his first hit of the series in the first inning… The Chiefs have been shut out six times this season, five of which have been at Dozer Park… Peoria and South Bend each had eight hits and one error in the game… The Chiefs were 0-for-5 with runners in scoring position… The Chiefs turned a season-high three double plays… The Chiefs have an off day on Sunday and will hit the road on Monday for a double header at 5:30 p.m. with the Cedar Rapids Kernels… The Chiefs will start RH Jordan Hicks (4-1, 2.76) against Kernels RH Eduardo Del Rosario (2-2, 3.95) in game one and in game two the Chiefs will start RH Mike O'Reilly (0-0, 2.13) while the Kernels have yet to announce a starting pitcher… The broadcast can be heard, starting with the Pre-Game Show at 5:15 p.m. on www.peoriachiefs.com/listenlive which also has downloads for a free app on the iPhone, iPad, Blackberry and Android…The broadcast is also available on the Peoria Chiefs Network in the Tune-In Radio App.
