Midland , MI - The Peoria Chiefs scored in the top of the 10th but gave up two runs in the bottom of the inning to get walked off 2-1 against the Great Lakes Loons Monday afternoon. The loss drops the Chiefs to 18-11 in the half and 57-42 overall as their five game win streak ends.

The Chiefs nearly scored in the top of the first inning against Alfredo Tavarez. Nick Plummer drew a leadoff walk and Luken Baker singled to right-center. As the throw went in to second base, Plummer was sent home but the relay was in time for the first out of the game. Zach Kirtley singled but a double play ended the inning.
Great Lakes also threatened in the first against Alex Fagalde. An error in right field and two walks loaded the bases with one out but Fagalde got out of the inning with a pair of strikeouts and he cruised through five innings.
The game was scoreless through nine as the teams combined for just six hits. Andres Luna started the 10th inning at second base, pinch-running for Baker, and Kirtley drew a walk. Yariel Gonzalez singled to right to bring home Luna for a 1-0 Chiefs lead. Kirtley reached third on the single but Gonzalez was thrown out at second and the Chiefs didn't add on.
Fabian Blanco took over for the Chiefs in the bottom of the inning with Luke Heyer at second base as the ghost runner. Heyer moved to third on a deep flyout to center and with one out a walk to Eric Peterson put runners on the corners. Josh McLain tied the game with a sacrifice fly to center and as JR Davis threw home, Peterson advanced to second. With two down, Brandon Montgomery singled the Loons to a 2-1 win as Peterson scored from second.
Fagalde threw five shutout innings and allowed just one hit in a no-decision. He walked two and struck out five on the day. Ben Yokley threw two shutout and hitless innings while walking two and striking out three. Patrick Dayton allowed one hit over two shutout innings while striking out one.
