Peoria, IL -The Peoria Chiefs lost the finale of a four-game series with the Clinton LumberKings 7-6. The Chiefs are 27-36 overall and will face Kane County on Tuesday to play the first game of a three-game series with a 6:30 p.m. first pitch.
    Clinton scored the first run of the game against Chiefs starter Brian Dobzanski. With two outs in the first inning, Joe Rizzo walked and scored from first on a double to left-center by Anthony Jimenez to give Clinton a 1-0 lead. 

  Peoria took the lead against Clinton starter Danny Garcia in the second. McCarvel led off with a single to center field and Brian O'Keefe reached on an error by Rizzo at third base. Juan Yepez singled to left to load the bases and McCarvel scored on a wild pitch to tie the game while O'Keefe and Yepez advanced to second and third. Vince Jackson singled to right field to plate O'Keefe and give the Chiefs a 2-1 lead. With one out and runners at the corners, Shane Billings lofted a sacrifice fly into right field to score Yepez from third and extend Peoria's lead to 3-1.
    The Chiefs added to their lead against Garcia in the third. With one out Andy Young was hit by a pitch and McCarvel doubled to the base of the wall in deep center field. McCarvel's sixth extra base hit of the series drove in Young from first base and gave the Chiefs a 4-1 advantage.
    The LumberKings cut the Chiefs lead to two in the fourth. Rizzo led off the with a double and Jimenez singled to right, moving Rizzo to third. Luis Liberato hit a sacrifice fly to left field that scored Rizzo to make it 4-2 with Jimenez moving to third. Gareth Morgan grounded into a fielder's choice at short stop, with Young throwing out Jimenez at the plate to save a run and get the second out. Dobzanski got Zammarelli to fly out to end the inning.
     Clinton tied the game in the fifth with Dobzanski on the mound. With two outs, Brigman was hit by a pitch and Rengifo clubbed a two-run homer over the left field wall to tie the game, 4-4. Dobzanski walked Rizzo and Jimenez singled, but Liberato grounded out to shortstop against Frederis Parra to end the inning.
    Peoria took the lead back in the fifth against Garcia. Stefan Trosclair singled and Young replaced him on the bases by popping into a fielder's choice to shallow right field. McCarvel doubled to center field to move Young to third and O'Keefe drove them both in with a double to left, giving the Chiefs a 6-4 lead.
    Clinton got a run back against Parra and Yeison Medina in the seventh. Thurman bunted for a hit against Parra and moved to second when Rengifo drew a one-out walk. Rizzo knocked in Thurman on a single to left with Medina on the mound to shorten Peoria's lead, 6-5.
    The LumberKings took the lead in the ninth inning against Chiefs reliever Brady Bowen. With one out, Brigman doubled to left field and scored when Rengifo doubled to tie the game, 6-6. Rengifo stole third and Rizzo sent a sacrifice fly to left field to score the go-ahead run and give Clinton a 7-6 lead.
    Dobzanski threw 4 2/3 innings in the no decision, allowing four runs on eight hits with two walks and a strikeout. Parra tossed 1 2/3 of an inning with one run on a hit and one walk and a strikeout. Medina earned a hold and went 1 2/3 shutout innings, allowing a hit with four strikeouts. Bowen (0-2) blew his first save of the year in a loss, allowing two runs on two hits in his one inning of work.
Notes… O'Keefe became the 16th player in Chiefs history with over 100 career RBI… O'Keefe is also tied for 16th with 41 career doubles… Young has a 26 game on-base streak… Billings extended his hit streak to eight games… Yepez has a five-game hit streak and McCarvel extended his hit streak to six games… McCarvel played left field for the third time this season… McCarvel had his second career four-hit game, and his first of the season… The Chiefs are 25-1 with a lead entering the ninth inning… Peoria is 6-11 in day games...
