Chihuahuas End Five-Game Losing Streak Thursday

The El Paso Chihuahuas left Round Rock's potential tying run at second base in the top of the ninth inning Thursday night at Southwest University Park and beat the Express 6-5. It ended the Chihuahuas' five-game losing streak and Round Rock's three-game winning streak.

Trailing 3-2 in the bottom of the seventh, El Paso got two-run home runs from Clay Dungan and Dustin Harris to go ahead. Carlos Rodríguez also homered for El Paso. Chihuahuas designated hitter Will Wagner went 3-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI.

Catcher Ethan Salas went 1-for-4 and has reached base in 15 of his first 16 Triple-A games. Hunter Stratton struck out three in two shutout innings for the Chihuahuas and he hasn't allowed any runs in his first eight innings in the San Diego Padres organization.
