The El Paso Chihuahuas beat the Reno Aces 8-6 Friday night at Greater Nevada Field to end their nine-game losing streak. The Aces had won the first three games of the series.
The Chihuahuas sent 10 batters to the plate in the top of the third inning and scored five runs on six hits, including a three-run home run by Ethan Salas, his first at the Triple-A level. Salas also had a single and a walk.
El Paso third baseman Marcos Castañon went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run. It was his 14th homer of the season, which is tied for 10th in the Pacific Coast League. Shortstop Clay Dungan also homered for El Paso. J.P. France pitched a scoreless relief outing for the Chihuahuas in his first game in the San Diego Padres organization.
