INDIANAPOLIS - The Indianapolis Indians coaching staff recently announced the team's 2017 season award winners. Christopher Bostick was named as the 2017 Team MVP, and five additional awards were dispersed prior to the Tribe's regular season home finale on Sunday, Aug. 27 against Columbus.

CHRISTOPHER BOSTICK - TEAM MVP
No matter the position or placement in the starting lineup, Bostick excelled both offensively and defensively en route to Team MVP honors. Bostick put up team bests across numerous categories this season with a .294 average, 33 doubles, 57 RBI and 75 runs scored. Bostick has also racked up a team-high 44 multi-hit games and 25 two-out RBIs. He ranks second in the International League in base hits with 143 knocks and his .294 average is good for fourth. Bostick batted everywhere except fourth and fifth in Indy's lineup while making starts at second, third, left, right, center and designated hitter. He made his major league debut this past May at Dodger Stadium with the Pirates after being a 44th round selection of the Oakland Athletics back in 2011.
STEVEN BRAULT - PITCHER OF THE YEAR
Brault quickly became Indy's 2017 ace thanks to a 7-0 stretch spanning the entire months of May and June. Brault tied for the team lead in wins with 10 and he paced the Indians rotation with 15 quality starts. Brault is on the verge of Indianapolis Indians history. He currently leads the International League with a 1.94 ERA and will become the second Tribe pitcher in franchise history to lead his respective league with a sub-2.00 ERA, joining Paul Carter from the 1916 Indianapolis Indians squad. He is also second in the IL in average against at .199 and his 1.07 WHIP is third among qualifiers. Brault was named to his first midseason All-Star team this season and threw a scoreless inning for the International League in the Triple-A Midsummer Classic.
CLAY HOLMES - ROOKIE OF THE YEAR
Holmes had three separate winning streaks of three games or more en route to a 10-5 record and 3.36 ERA in 25 games (24 starts) this season. Holmes, 24, allowed three runs or less in 20 of his 24 starts while holding IL batters to a .238 average. Holmes was at his best over the last two months, going 4-2 with a 2.56 ERA in 10 starts for Indianapolis.
CHRISTOPHER BOSTICK - SILVER SLUGGER
Bostick established himself as one of the International League's most consistent hitters this season after batting .337 in the month of April. He followed that month with a .309 average in May. Bostick recorded 10-plus RBIs in every month this season and delivered in the clutch often, batting .289 with runners in scoring position and two outs.
ERICH WEISS - GOLD GLOVE
Weiss' consistency at three positions - first, second and third base - made manager Andy Barkett's job a little easier when filling out the lineup card this season. Weiss has made nine starts at first, 25 at third and 50 at second base while committing six total errors en route to a .984 fielding percentage. While providing consistent glovework at those three positions, Weiss posted solid offensive numbers as well with a .277 average, six home runs and 43 RBI. The Indians are 54-35 when Weiss starts this season.
DOVYDAS NEVERAUSKAS - RELIEVER OF THE YEAR
Neverauskas was selected as Indy's Reliever of the Year after proving to be a reliable option in the bullpen from day one. In 40 games for the Tribe this season, Neverauskas recorded 13 saves to go along with a 2.86 ERA. His 13 saves are third most in the International League. Since the beginning of June, Neverauskas converted nine of his 10 save opportunities while posting a 1.75 ERA in 25.2 innings pitched. In late April this season, Neverauskas became the first born-and-raised Lithuanian to reach the major leagues when he made a relief appearance with the Pirates.
