Two-time American League All-Star
Speaking to the media on Friday afternoon, Blue Jays manager Charlie Montoyo said that the former Buchholz is on his way to Buffalo and at this point, is scheduled to start for the Herd on Sunday.
A veteran of 12 Major League seasons, Buchholz was signed by the Blue Jays this offseason and did not pitch for the big league squad this spring. Last season, the righty had a tremendous campaign with the Diamondbacks, going 7-2 with a 2.01 ERA in 16 starts for Torey Lovullo's squad. Buchholz was a two-time American League All-Star in 2010 and 2013. He also made four post season appearances to help the Red Sox win the 2013 World Series title.
Buchholz has yet to pitch this season, beginning the year on the Blue Jays injury list from a right flexor strain that ended his 2018 season prematurely. However, his delayed start to the season is more about the fact that he signed late with the Blue Jays.
Sunday's game is also part of Anderson's Kids Club at Sahlen Field. Kids tickets (14 years old and younger) purchased at the Sahlen Field Box Office are only $9 and all kids get to run the bases post game. The forecast also calls for Sunday to be one of the warmest days of the early Spring in Buffalo. GET MY TICKETS.
