CURVE, Pa. - Altoona Curve right-handed pitcher Austin Coley has been named the Eastern League Pitcher of the Week for the week of August 28-September 4, the league announced on Tuesday.

Coley made two scoreless starts over the week, picking up a pair of wins against Richmond and Harrisburg.
A 25-year-old native of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Coley has not allowed a run over his last 15 innings overall.

Coley faced Richmond last Tuesday, tossing seven scoreless innings and allowing four hits with one walk and tied a career high with eight strikeouts. The 3-1 win clinched a playoff berth for the Curve.
On Sunday, Coley wrapped up his regular season with seven scoreless innings in a win over Harrisburg, allowing five hits with one walk and two strikeouts.
Coley finished the regular season ranked fourth in the Eastern League with a 3.01 ERA, fifth with 143.2 innings pitched, fourth with a 1.22 WHIP and fourth with a 2.07 BB/9 IP ratio. He went 6-4 this season over 23 starts and six relief outings while leading the Curve with 114 strikeouts. He also finished with the sixth-best ERA and fifth-most strikeouts in the Pittsburgh organization.
An eighth-round pick by the Pirates out of Belmont University in 2014, Coley is the first Curve pitcher to be named Eastern League Pitcher of the Week this season, and the pick marks the first weekly award selection of Coley's career.
