WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (June 29, 2017) - Winston-Salem catcher Zack Collins will suit up for the USA Team in the 2017 SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game, which will take place at Marlins Park in Miami, Fla., on Sunday, July 9, as part of Major League Baseball's All-Star Game festivities.
Selected by the White Sox with the 10th overall pick in last year's MLB Draft, the 22-year-old has done solid work both behind the plate and in the batter's box for Winston-Salem.

Playing in his first full professional season, Collins has thrown out a Carolina League-leading 34 would-be base stealers through Wednesday's game. Rated the sixth-best prospect in Chicago's system by MLB Pipeline, the backstop has also drawn a circuit-best 56 walks. His .368 on-base percentage is 11th-best in the CL, while his 10 home runs lead the Dash and are tied for ninth in the league.
Before joining the White Sox organization, Collins starred in the Atlantic Coast Conference for the University of Miami. The Fort Lauderdale, Fla., native placed in the top 10 in Hurricanes history in career homers (42), RBIs (183) and walks (177). After his junior season in 2016, Collins took home the Johnny Bench Award, which is given to the best collegiate catcher in the country.
Collins is one of three White Sox prospects who will participate in this year's game, joining Charlotte infielder Yoán Moncada and Birmingham right-hander Michael Kopech. Collins is also the fourth player in Dash history (2009-present) to earn a selection to the All-Star Futures Game while playing with the club.
Right-hander Daniel Hudson was the first to do so in 2009, and current White Sox infielder Yolmer Sanchez played in the 2012 exhibition. Righty Frankie Montas, who spent time in the Majors with Oakland this year, was the last Dash player to earn a spot when he was selected to play in the 2014 event.
The SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game will be held at Marlins Park, the home of the Miami Marlins. It has been an annual part of Major League Baseball's All-Star events since 1999. The much-anticipated exhibition will take place at 4 p.m. EDT on July 9, and fans can watch the game on MLB Network and MLB.com. Radio play-by-play coverage will be available on Sirius (channel 209) and XM (channel 89).
