There were Friday night fireworks in the air, and fireworks coming off the red hot bat of IronPigs right fielder Dylan Cozens bat, as the 22-year-old launched two home runs, including a walk off home run in the bottom of the 12th. The IronPigs (21-13) walked off to a 5-4 victory over the Buffalo Bisons (18-14) in front of 9,122 at Coca-Cola Park Friday night.

With the score tied at 4 in the bottom of the 12th, Cozens stepped up to the plate and drilled the first pitch he saw from Bisons relief pitcher Chad Girado to send the Pigs home with their seventh-consecutive win.

The Pigs nearly ended it in the 11th inning twice, as Pedro Florimón led off the frame with a long fly ball to left field that Bisons outfielder Darrel Ceciliani caught leaping at the wall. The very next batter Roman Quinn then singled up the middle to get the speedster aboard with just one out in the frame. Quinn would then steal second with Cameron Perkins batting, and was advanced to third on Perkins ground out to second later in the at-bat. With Quinn at third, Jorge Alfaro then struck out to end the Pigs threat and kept the game tied at 4.
Buffalo jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the top of the second inning as the Bisons connected for three hits in the frame. Jason Leblebijian led off the inning with a single to right field and was later bounced home on an Alex Monsalve groundout to second base. Roemen Fields then plated two with his two-run single off the right field wall.
Cozens answered back emphatically in the bottom half with his first of two solo home runs to right field, his first traveled 366 feet to put the Pigs on the board as they trailed 3-1 after two.
After surrendering three runs in the second, Pigs starter Mark Appel settled into a groove as he retired 15 of his last 19 batters he faced
The Pigs rallied in the late innings tallying a run in the seventh, eight and in the ninth to the game at 4 to send it to extras.
Pedro Florimon drove home Taylor Featherston with an RBI double to narrow the Pigs deficit to 3-2 in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Jesmuel Valentín then plated Hoskins who walked to lead off the Pigs eighth inning, as the switch-hitting second baseman sent an RBI single to center to tie the game at 3 in the bottom of the eighth.
After the Bisons took the lead 4-3 on a bases loaded walk to Christian Lopes in the top of the ninth, Cozens answered yet again as his RBI single to right tied the game at 4 to force extra innings.
Pigs relievers Pat Venditte and César Ramos did not allow a run to score as the duo tossed the final 3 1/3 innings allowing just a hit a piece.
Venditte inherited a bases loaded jam and walked in the Bisons go-ahead run in the ninth inning, however the run is not charged to Venditte so his now 17 2/3 scoreless innings streak lives.
Ramos (2-1, 2.53) picked up his second win of the season as he tossed the final two innings, allowing just one hit while striking out a batter.
On the night, Cozent went 3-for-6 with two home runs, three RBI and two runs scored to send the Pigs home with their seventh-consecutive win, tying a franchise-record.
The series continues with game three Saturday night at Coca-Cola Park as the Pigs will send right-hander Tom Eshelman (1-0, 0.00) to square off against Bisons right-hander Mat Latos (0-0, 0.90). First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m. and it is Star Wars Night, with Star Wars themed post game fireworks presented by PA Lawn & Landscape.
