Curve announce time change for Saturday, postpone Van Slyke appearance

CURVE, Pa. - The Altoona Curve announced a time change for this Saturday's game against the Akron RubberDucks, with first pitch now scheduled for 2 p.m. at Peoples Natural Gas Field. The team also announced that next Tuesday's appearance by Andy Van Slyke has been postponed to a date that will be announced at a later time.

Saturday's game, originally scheduled to start at 4 p.m., will be moved up two hours to start at 2 p.m. The Michael Ryan Fans' Choice All-Time Curve Team Bobblehead, presented by First Commonwealth Bank, is still scheduled to be distributed when the gates open at 1 p.m. to the general public and 12:50 for season ticket holders.  
"Due to the inclement weather in the forecast, we wanted to make sure for our fans and our players that we are playing the game during the warmest part of the day," Curve general manager Derek Martin said. "While we have no control over the weather, we are hoping the adjustments make Saturday's experience for fans as enjoyable and comfortable as possible."
The appearance by former Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Andy Van Slyke presented by Peoples, originally scheduled to take place on Tuesday, April 10, will move to a later date. The team will issue an update once further information has been determined.
At this time, the Tuesday, April 10 game between the Curve and Harrisburg Senators is still set to be played as scheduled. Fans who already have tickets will still be able to attend Tuesday's game, and the Curve will also honor Tuesday's tickets for the to-be-determined date of Van Slyke's appearance.
