Announced Saturday morning, the Arizona Diamondbacks assign infielder Nick Grande from Hillsboro to Missoula. Grande was drafted out of SUNY Stony Brook in the 17th round in 2019, and began the 2019 season with the Hops, averaging .133 at the plate in 30 games.
A native of Smithtown, NY, Grande averaged a .332 at the plate in 54 games with Stony Brook in 2019, scoring a team-high 58 runs. The Diamondbacks drafted Grande in the 17th round, following back-to-back All-American campaigns with the Seawolves.

In his recent game in Hillsboro, Grande finished with a 1-4 night against Salem-Keizer, also scoring a run. In 30 games with the Hops in 2019, Grande recorded 13 hits, walking 12 times.
Grande joins the Osprey lineup two days after the Diamondbacks assigned Liover Peguero from Missoula to Hillsboro. Peguero averaged a .364 in 38 games for the Osprey. Since joining the Hops, Peguero is 3-9 in two games, recording a double and a triple.
The four-game series continues Saturday night in Orem for the Osprey, with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 pm. The Owlz and O's series ends on Sunday, with a 4:05 pm start. Missoula currently rides their longest winning streak of the season, winners of their last six contests.
The Osprey return to Ogren Park at Allegiance Field on Friday, August 16, against the Great Falls Voyagers for Jacks Pub Happy Hour, with $2 Mystery Beer on tap, and $3 micro brews from 4-7.
