DANVILLE, Va. - The Danville Braves split its twin bill with the Princeton Rays on Thursday night at Legion Field, moving to 22-19 on the season.

DANVILLE, Va. - The Danville Braves split its twin bill with the Princeton Rays on Thursday night at Legion Field, moving to 22-19 on the season.

Game 1 (D-Braves 4, Princeton 3, F/8)
The D-Braves walked off in game one of the doubleheader off a Ray Soderman single, handing Danville the 4-3 victory.
Soderman swung on a 3-0 pitch to score Justin Smith. The product of Danville, California notched a three-hit game on the day, which is his first of his career.
Henry Quintero came in clutch with one out in the bottom of the seventh inning, tying the game at 3-3. With runners at first and second, the Camaguey, Cuba native roped a single to shallow right, bringing in Brett Langhorne.
The D-Braves struck first in the bottom of the second, which helps them improve to 18-5 this season in such circumstances. Three of Danville's first four hitters in the inning roped singles to load the bases. Luis Mejia smacked a sac fly to center, giving the Braves a 1-0 lead.  
Luis Mejia notched his first multi-RBI game of the year. Mejia singled up the middle to give Danville a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the fourth, 2-1.
Dilmer Mejia pitched five innings in his ninth start of the year. Mejia allowed one earned run and three hits, sending down six over 80 pitches.
Game 2 (Princeton 8, D-Braves 0, F/7)
Danville only registered two hits in game two of the doubleheader.
Princeton's Jordan Qsar's two homerun game powered the Rays offense in its win over the D-Braves, 8-0.
Five straight reached in the Rays three-run third inning. Qsar smoked a two-run homerun to open the scoring on the day, his ninth of the year. The next two Rays reached with a single and walk, and Beau Brundage singled to left, extending the game to 3-0. 
Qsar added a solo homerun in the top of the fifth, extending Princeton's lead to 4-0.
The Rays blew the game open with five runs in the top of the seventh to complete their scoring efforts.
Connor Simmons took the start for the D-Braves, his first since his sophomore year of college at Georgia Southern. The left-handed pitcher threw three innings, giving up four hits and three earned.
Rays pitcher Miguel Lara hurled six innings without giving up a run, only allowing two hits with eight strikeouts.
