MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (August 22, 2018) - The Winston-Salem Dash used an eighth-inning comeback Thursday to down the Myrtle Beach Pelicans 5-4 from BB&T Ballpark. With the Pelicans (58-71, 24-35) leading 4-1 in the bottom of the eighth inning, the Dash (77-50, 36-21) exploded offensively against Tyler Peyton (3-6). MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (August 22, 2018) - The Winston-Salem Dash used an eighth-inning comeback Thursday to down the Myrtle Beach Pelicans 5-4 from BB&T Ballpark. 
With the Pelicans (58-71, 24-35) leading 4-1 in the bottom of the eighth inning, the Dash (77-50, 36-21) exploded offensively against Tyler Peyton (3-6). Back-to-back bases-loaded walks from Gavin Sheets and Ti'Quan Forbes made it a one-run game. Laz Rivera then tied the game with a sacrifice fly and Luis Robert gave the Dash the 5-4 lead with a sacrifice fly of his own. 

Danny Dopico (1-4) earned the win for the Dash in his 2.1 innings of relief.
Winston-Salem found the scoreboard first in the bottom of the second inning when Forbes singled home Yermin Mercedes. 
In the top of the fourth, the Pelicans tied the game on a Luis Ayala RBI single. 
Christian Donahue, who went 1-for-1 with three walks, worked a free pass in the seventh and Zach Davis was hit by a pitch to put two on for Jhonny Pereda . The Pelicans' catcher singled home Donahue to give the Birds the lead and Davis came in to score on a throwing error to make it 3-1. Jared Young added an RBI single of his own to give Myrtle Beach a 4-1 advantage. 
The Pelicans head to Down East next for a three-game series with the Wood Ducks, beginning with a 7 p.m. first pitch on Friday. The Pelicans will send RHP Cory Abbott (4-5, 2.97 ERA) to the mound against Down East RHP Steven Bruce (5-8, 3.19 ERA).
