Surprise 5, Salt River 3
The Saguaros rode a solid start from Pirates top pitching prospect and AFL All-Star Quinn Priester and a game-breaking single from the Rangers' Luisangel Acuña (No. 7) to their AFL-best 17th win. Priester logged four innings of two-run ball, striking out four to pick up his first AFL victory. Acuña’s single in the fourth snapped a 2-2 tie and Surprise never looked back. Run-scoring hits from the Pirates' Blake Sabol and the Astros' Will Wagner padded the Saguaros’ lead. The Rafters’ biggest swing of the day came from the Tigers prospect Colt Keith (No. 6) who socked his second home run of the campaign to give his club a short-lived lead. More »

Peoria 14, Mesa 7
Yankees prospect Tyler Hardman socked two homers and the Cubs' Matt Mervis took over the AFL home run lead with his sixth big fly of the Fall League, but it wasn’t enough to hold back a relentless Javelinas lineup. Peoria sent 11 men to the plate in the fifth and scored six times with Cleveland's Angel Martinez (No. 11) and San Diego's Tirso Ornelas (No. 18) contributing big hits in the frame and combining for three RBIs. Mervis, the No. 21 Cubs prospect, added an RBI single after his solo jack broke a six-way tie atop the AFL home run leaderboard. The 24-year-old has hit safely in seven of his past eight games. Glendale 6, Scottsdale 1
The Desert Dogs received a mammoth two-run homer from the Brewers' Je’Von Ward and pulled away late to defeat the Scorpions. Glendale might have had another run if not for an excellent play by Boston's Nick Yorke, who ranged up the middle to rob Milwaukee's Jeferson Quero (No. 7) of a hit in the fourth. The No. 4 Red Sox prospect continued to produce offensively, tallying three hits in the losing effort. The Dodgers' Andy Pages (No. 5) chipped in with a run-scoring single during a two-hit performance for the Desert Dogs. On the Scorpions' side, the Orioles' Heston Kjerstad fell a homer shy of the cycle and finished with three knocks. Baltimore's No. 9 prospect has an AFL-best 33 hits in 20 games and is batting .371 with a 1.063 OPS. More »
