(DURHAM, NC) - Infielder/outfielder Nicky Delmonico , who was hitting .262 with 55 runs scored, 18 doubles, three triples, 12 home runs and 45 RBIs in 99 games with the Charlotte Knights this season, had his contract purchased by the Chicago White Sox today. Delmonico will take the roster spot of outfielder Willy García , who was placed on Chicago's seven-day disabled list with a concussion. Additionally, outfielders Jacob May and Jason Bourgeois were activated off Charlotte's Temporary Inactive List. Charlotte's roster features 25 active players.
Delmonico, 25, has hit safely in nine of his last 11 games with the Knights. He was selected as a 2017 International League All-Star earlier this season. Last season, Delmonico hit .338 with 10 home runs and 31 RBIs for the Barons before a promotion to Charlotte on May 24, 2016. He went on to hit .246 (64-for-260) with seven home runs and 30 RBIs in 72 games with the Knights. He was signed by the Chicago White Sox as a free agent on February 11, 2015.
For the season, the Knights have now promoted 14 players to Chicago.
