Trenton tied the game off of Teddy Stankiewicz (L 2-2) in the fifth inning. Jorge Saez singled and advanced to second on an error by Cole Sturgeon, then advanced to third on a wild pitch. Abiatal Avelino lined a single into left to even the score 1-1.

The Thunder took the lead with fourth straight base hits off of Stankiewicz to begin the sixth. Miguel Andújar put Trenton ahead with an RBI single to score Billy McKinney. Zack Zehner doubled in a run, Rashad Crawford hit a sac fly, and Billy Fleming delivered an RBI single.

Stankiewicz allowed five runs (four earned) on nine hits in 5.2 innings. He walked one and struck out three.

Andujar extended the Thunder lead to 6-1 with a homer off of Williams Jerez in the seventh.
