Three Sea Dogs headed to All-Star Game

Portland, Maine - The Eastern League has announced the All-Star Rosters for the annual mid-summer classic on July 12th at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium in Manchester, New Hampshire. Sea Dogs Infielder Rafael Devers, Outfielder Danny Mars and Pitcher Teddy Stankiewicz were named to the Eastern Division roster. 

Portland, Maine - The Eastern League has announced the All-Star Rosters for the annual mid-summer classic on July 12th at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium in Manchester, New Hampshire. Sea Dogs Infielder Rafael Devers, Outfielder Danny Mars and Pitcher Teddy Stankiewicz were named to the Eastern Division roster. 

Devers is ranked the #1 overall prospect (#14 overall) in the Red Sox system according to Baseball America. The selection for Devers will make him an All-Star in each of his first 4 professional seasons: 2014 (Gulf Coast League), 2015 (South Atlantic League) and 2016 (Carolina League). 
In 66 games to start his Double-A career, Devers is hitting .291 (73-for-251) with a career-high 14 homers and 45 RBI. On May 2nd, he tied a career high with 5 hits and 2 homers against the Hartford Yard Goats. Devers homered in his first Double-A at-bat on April 7th vs. Reading and reached base in 19 straight games from April 29-May 18.
Mars is Portland's leading hitter (9th in the Eastern League), compiling a .311 average (76-for-244) with 2 homers and 21 RBI. The Sarasota, Florida native has appeared in 61 games in his first Double-A season and played all three-outfield spots. 
On April 9th vs. Reading, Mars slugged his first Double-A homer, a 2-run shot off Tom Windle. Mars has reached base safely in 49 of 61 games and leads the Sea Dogs with 3 triples.
Stankiewicz was Portland's Opening Night starter, and has made 13 starts for Portland in his second Double-A season. The righty is 2-3, 4.42 ERA (37 ER/75.1 IP) with 18 walks and 55 strikeouts. 
The Keller, Texas native has a quality start in eight of 13 appearances and earned his third Double-A complete game on May 16th vs. Hartford (Game 1 of a doubleheader).
