Diamondbacks Add Prospects to 2019 Reno Aces Roster
RENO, Nev. - The Arizona Diamondbacks have spent the offseason bolstering their Minor League system via free agency and the Rule Five Draft. Reno, their Triple-A affiliate, will see multiple new faces in the Biggest Little City come 2019. Former San Francisco Giants infielder Kelby Tomlinson headlines the free agent
RENO, Nev. - The Arizona Diamondbacks have spent the offseason bolstering their Minor League system via free agency and the Rule Five Draft. Reno, their Triple-A affiliate, will see multiple new faces in the Biggest Little City come 2019. Former San Francisco Giants infielder Kelby Tomlinson headlines the free agent group set to arrive in April.
Returning to Reno next season are infielders Juniel Querecuto and Cody Decker. Querecuto hit .315 for the Aces in 2018 in 68 games played and added 57 runs scored. Decker appeared in 63 games for Reno last season. He hit nine home runs and drove in 29 RBI.

Kevin McCanna - October 22, 2018 | 1-year Minor League Successor Contract. Assigned to Reno. RHP/6-1/185/L-R | DOB: 2/1/1994 | McCanna went 4-2 last season with Visalia (Advanced-A). In nine starts, the right-hander struck out 51 and walked just 16.
Cody Decker - October 25, 2018 | 1-year Minor League Successor Contract. Assigned to Reno. INF/5-11/218/R/R | DOB: 1/17/1987
Abraham Almonte - November 5, 2018 | 1-year Minor League Free Agent Contract. Assigned to Reno. OF/5-9/210/S-R | DOB: 6/27/1989 | Almonte appeared in 50 games with Kansas City in 2018. He hit .179 with 134 AB's and finished with six extra-base hits.
Wyatt Mathisen - November 12, 2018 |1-year Minor League Free Agent Contract. Assigned to Reno. UTL/6-0/236/R-R | DOB: 12/30/1993 | Mathisen appeared in 90 games between Double-A and Triple-A as a member of the Pirates farm system. A former second-round selection, Mathisen hit .261 with 10 home runs and 48 RBI.
Andew Aplin - November 12, 2018 | 1-year Minor League Free Agent Contract. Assigned to Reno. OF/6-0/205/L-L | DOB: 3/21/1991 | Aplin is an Arizona State product entering his eighth professional season. In 2018, Aplin appeared in 63 games with the Tacoma Rainiers and hit .265 with 17 doubles.

Kelby Tomlinson - November 20, 2018 | 1-year Minor League Free Agent Contract. Assigned to Reno. UTL/6-2/171/R-R | DOB: 6/16/1990 | Tomlinson was a fan favorite in his time with the San Francisco Giants. The infielder split time between San Francisco and Sacramento in 2018. While in Sacramento, Tomlinson hit .304 with 15 runs scored and seven stolen bases.
