Las Vegas, Nev. - The Las Vegas 51s scored on a run on a hit batter and three consecutive walks in the 13th inning to defeat the Oklahoma City Dodgers, 3-2, Friday night at Cashman Field.
Kevin Plawecki led off the bottom of the 13th inning, and with the count 0-2, he was hit by a pitch. Dodgers reliever Edward Paredes (0-1) walked both Travis Taijeron and Xorge Carrillo on four pitches, bringing up Phillip Evans with the bases loaded. The trend for Paredes continued, walking Evans on four pitches to bring home the game-winning run.
The Dodgers (58-52) sent the game to extra innings after trailing, 2-1, heading to the ninth inning. Max Muncy belted a 3-2 fastball from Jamie Callahan over the right-center field fence to even the score on Muncy's 10th home run of the season.
Following Muncy's home run through the end of the 12th inning, the teams combined for just two hits and each team put the potential go-ahead or winning run in scoring position just once. After walk and an error with one out in the top of the 11th inning, the Dodgers had two men on base, but Alex Verdugo hit into an inning-ending double play.
The 51s (43-69) had none on with two outs in 12th inning before a single and a walk put the winning run in scoring position. Dodgers reliever Jeremy Bleich then got Dominic Smith to ground out to end the threat.
The OKC bullpen allowed one run over six innings and the entire pitching staff surrendered just three runs and eight hits, but the Dodgers offense struggled mightily for the second straight night. The team went just 5-for-42 with one extra-base hit and had just four at-bats with runners in scoring position, with no runners reaching scoring position in 11 of 13 innings. They had just one runner reach scoring position over the final 12 innings.

Early on it looked like the team's offensive struggles might be a thing of the past, as the Dodgers got on the board in the first inning. Singles by Tim Locastro and Henry Ramos put runners at the corners with one out for Edwin Ríos, who sent a sacrifice fly to left field to make it 1-0.
But following the early run, Las Vegas starting pitcher Jonathan Albaladejo took over the game. Albaladejo faced the minimum between the second and eighth innings, retiring 20 of 21 batters on a total of 64 pitches. After Ramos' single in the first inning, Abaladejo retired 17 straight batters before Ramos singled to lead off the seventh inning. Albaladejo promptly erased Ramos from the basepaths, getting the next hitter to ground into a double play.
Although he only threw 88 pitches, Albaladejo exited after eight innings. He struck out five and did not allow a walk.
Dodgers starting pitcher Eddie Gamboa also got off to a strong start in his team debut. He faced one over the minimum through three innings, retiring eight of 10 batters.
Trailing, 1-0, the 51s got their bats going in the fourth inning and tied the game. Matt Reynolds led off the inning with a double and advanced to third base on a wild pitch. Smith followed with a RBI single to even the score.
Las Vegas threatened to break the tie in the fifth inning, putting runners at second and third base with two outs. However, Gamboa escaped the jam by getting Reynolds to fly out to right field.
Gamboa wasn't as fortunate in the sixth inning. After striking out the first two batters, Taijeron hit a go-ahead solo home run to put the 51s in the lead, as Taijeron homered against the Dodgers for the second straight game.
Gamboa exited the game after the sixth inning. He turned in a solid start, allowing two runs and six hits, with two walks and three strikeouts in a no decision.
Making an appearance on rehab assignment, Los Angeles Dodgers reliever Chris Hatcher kept the Dodgers within one run, holding the 51s scoreless between the seventh and eight innings. Hatcher allowed one hit and one walk with four strikeouts.
Jacob Rhame retired the side in order in the ninth inning. Joe Broussard did not allow a hit over two scoreless innings between the 10th and 11th innings while recording two strikeouts.
Kyle Regnault (3-0) earned the win for Las Vegas, retiring all six batters he faced, with three via strikeout.
In terms of innings, Friday was the Dodgers' second-longest game of the season, and they are now 3-6 in extra-inning games. It was also the eighth time the team were victims of a walk-off loss.
The Dodgers take on the 51s next at 9:05 p.m. CT Saturday night. Live coverage begins at 8:50 p.m. on AM 1340 "The Game," 1340thegame.com, or through the free iHeartRadio mobile app.
