Dombkowski Shoves, Indians Pitching Staff Strikes Out 12 in Win

INDIANAPOLIS – Nick Dombkowski punched out a season-high-tying seven batters as the Indianapolis Indians defeated the Omaha Storm Chasers, 5-1, on Saturday night at Victory Field. The Indians supplied the power tonight, as all of their runs came off the bat of two home runs and two RBI doubles.

Dombkowski (W, 5-5) pitched a gem to back Indianapolis (39-29, 70-73) to their third win of the series, allowing just one run over 5.2 innings. The southpaw has now thrown back-to-back starts of one-run ball.

The Indians scored first for just the second time this series. In the second inning, Jhostynxon Garcia unloaded on a slider from Storm Chasers (31-35, 64-76) starter Lucas Braun (L, 8-5), hitting a solo shot for a 1-0 Indians lead.

In the third inning with two outs, Mitch Jebb sent a ball to the center-field wall and dove into third base for a triple. Five pitches later, Nick Yorke pushed a ball fair down the left-field foul line, rolling all the way through Indianapolis’ bullpen and bouncing off the wall. Yorke trotted into second base with an RBI double, 2-0, as Jebb scored.

The Indians put up three runs in the next frame. After Garcia reached base on an error by Omaha’s third baseman Jacob Berry, Robert Hassell III brought him home with an RBI double. With two outs in the inning and Hassell at second, Tyler Callihan hit a two-run home run for his eighth long ball of the year, to make it a 5-0 ball game.

Brett Squires put the Storm Chasers on the board, 5-1, in the sixth inning with an RBI single. That would be all for Omaha, as Landon Tomkins (1.1ip) and Derek Diamond (1.0ip) followed with a scoreless appearance each.

Indianapolis hosts the Storm Chasers for the last home game of the 2026 season tomorrow afternoon at 1:35 PM. RHP Thomas Harrington (2-7, 5.99) will look for a series-finale victory for the Indians against Omaha’s LHP Ryan Ramsey (5-7, 5.88).
