Rome took the lead with two runs in the fifth on a wild pitch to score a run and a run scoring base hit by Cristian Pache. Rome pitching was strong once again and held on the for the 3-1 final. Joey Wentz (5-3) gets the win going six innings allowing four hits, one run, while striking out eight. Mauricio Llovera (1-1) is tagged with the loss. Jon Kennedy earns his fourth save.
Just like in game one, Lakewood grabbed a 1-0 lead in the first inning on Darick Hall's single to drive home a run. In the fifth, the BlueClaws made it a 2-0 game on Raul Rivas' sacrifice fly RBI and that was enough for the win. Gustavo Armas (1-0) gets the victory and Rome starter Alan Rangel (1-3) is hit with the tough loss. Will Hibbs earns the save (11). Rangel pitched well going five innings allowing two runs and striking out three. The Braves offense struggled being shutout and held to just three hits on the night.               
Rome and Lakewood will tangle again tomorrow night at seven in the final game of the series.
