NOTES OF INTEREST
COMING DOWN THE STRETCH: When the homestand begins, there will only be 10 games remaining in the first half of the Texas League season. The Drillers are currently just 3.5 games out of first place and will have an excellent chance to earn a guaranteed playoff spot as both the Cardinals and Naturals are the teams above them.
MORE WALK-OFF MAGIC? The Drillers went 4-2 on their last homestand against the San Antonio Missions and Corpus Christi Hooks, thanks in large part to the walk-off hit. The final win against the Missions and both wins against the Hooks came about thanks to final at-bat heroics as
PITCHER'S DUEL OR SHOOTOUT? It's almost as if the Drillers have been two different teams when facing the Cardinals and the Naturals this season. Against the Cardinals, the Drillers have hit just .251 as a club while the pitching staff has pitched to the tune of a 3.04 ERA. Against the Naturals however, the Drillers have hit .287 as a lineup while the pitchers have scuffled a bit to a team ERA of 3.83.
RECORD AGAINST OPPONENTS: When playing against the Cardinals at ONEOK Field, the Drillers have tallied a 51-57 record after splitting a 4-game series at home back in May. Against the Naturals, the Drillers have a solid 54-42 record at home since 2010, which includes a 1-2 record so far this season.
