The Lexington Legends scored four times in the sixth inning and held the Greenville Drive to just one hit en route to a 5-2 victory in a rain-shortened contest on Friday night.
With the score 2-1 in favor of the Drive (4-11, 45-39), the Legends (10-5, 44-40) quickly tied the game up at two, as Emmanuel Rivera belted a solo homer off Drive starter Daniel Gonzalez (6-2). Later in the frame, Yeison Melo rudely greeted reliever Hildemaro Requena with an RBI single to put the Legends ahead, and Marten Gasparini followed with a two-run double to extend the lead.

Gonzalez took the loss despite striking out eight over five and two-third innings.
The Drive made the Legends pay for a two-out error in the fourth, as Tucker Tubbs then cracked a two-run homer to left to put the Drive up 2-1.
That was the only hit allowed by Lexington in the game, as Andre Davis (5-2) struck out seven in six innings of work to get the win. Anthony Bender threw the next two innings for the Legends, and he received credit for his fourth save when the rain came in the bottom of the eighth and ended the game early.
Rivera led the way for Lexington with three hits, while Gasparini and Melo added two hits apiece. Khalil Lee led off the bottom of the first with a solo homer for the Legends that put them ahead 1-0.
Game two of the four-game series begins at 6:35 PM on Saturday in Lexington. Right-hander Bryan Mata (1-1, 3.56) takes the mound for the Drive, and the Legends will counter with right-hander Travis Eckert (3-5, 5.04).
