Chris Shaw gave the River Cats the early 1-0 lead in the first inning, doubling home Triple-A rookie Steven Duggar. Duggar, who started in center field and hit leadoff, went 1-for-3 in his River Cats debut and made a number of nice plays in the outfield. In the third frame, Mac Williamson notched his 44th RBI of the year and Juan Ciriaco drove in two more to make it a 4-0 lead.
Starter Jose Flores tossed a solid six innings against the Isotopes, allowing two runs on five hits with seven punchouts. The right-hander picked up second win with the club as the bullpen took care of the rest and Derek Law earned his ninth save of the season.
The River Cats and Isotopes will wrap up their four-game series tomorrow night. Giants' pitcher Johnny Cueto is expected to make a rehab start for the River Cats. Albuquerque counters with left-hander Ryan Carpenter (8-9, 4.47). First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. (PT) and the game can be heard live online at rivercats.com and on the air on ESPN 1320.
