CORPUS CHRISTI - Right-hander Brock Dykxhoorn fired five one-hit frames Wednesday night, and the Hooks weathered a two-hour rain delay and a ninth-inning RockHounds rally, knocking off Midland 4-3 at Whataburger Field.
Corpus Christi was on 10 of its last 13 games.

A series of singles by Yordan Alvarez, Nick Tanielu, and Randy César handed the Hooks a 2-0 lead in the first.
Alvarez belted an opposite-field home run over the left field fence in the third, putting the Home Nine up by three. It was his fourth home run of the year. Alvarez is tied for the Texas League lead with 18 RBIs.
Corpus Christi got another run against Midland starter Ben Bracewell in the fourth. Cesar cracked a lead-off single, and scored on a two-out double by Alex De Goti.
Dykxhoorn permitted just two baserunners over five innings of work. The Canadian right-hander is 2-0 with a 1.53 ERA, which ranks fourth in the circuit.
Lefty Ryan Hartman spun two scoreless innings before a two-hour rain delay halted play.
Following the stoppage, Ralph Garza worked around a lead-off walk in the eighth but could not muster the final out in the ninth. Midland managed two walks and a trio of two-out hits to make it a one-run game.
Brendan Feldmann entered an induced a pop up for his first Double-A save.
The Hooks aim for a series victory Thursday night with Cuban right-hander Yoanys Quiala on the hill. His fellow countryman Norge Ruiz is slated to pitch for the RockHounds. First pitch 7:05.
